WebMD Pain Coach App Reviews

Too Much Pain

I have no idea whether I would like this app or not. I tried to sign in multiple times and it crashed every time. Its already deleted. One other note, this app hasnt been updated since 2014. It clearly isnt a high priority for WebMD.

Neat!

This app is the best, easy to use. My Doctor thought this was so cool hes having all his chronic illness patients use this. Now my Doc gets more info to help provide better care. Just fix the date please. Just cause its free shouldnt make people wait a day. People with fibro and similar conditions need an accurate account of there when it happens. If i need to write it down then it defeats the purpose of having a digital journal.

Talk about painful.

This app crashes EVERY time I try to log in. Absolutely useless!

Only if it is Improved

I wont bother with this app until its improved. I couldnt find Acetaminophen (Tylenol NOT extra strength), Naproxen (tabs, 220 mg) or Aleve (it lists only naproxen oral). This is important to me because I want to log my meds EXACTLY. Also, I dont see where the app will let you log what time(s) I took it or the dose, but just whether I used it that day or not. In addition I could not find Meditation under Mood, Treatment or Goal. Lastly, under Tips I found Try Hasya Yoga. For those of you who may not know, there is no such type of Yoga. HATHA Yoga is well known and practiced by millions of people. Just really an inexcusable mistake by a professional organization such as WebMD. IMHO. KC

Horrible

It wont even open. I cant log it for it crashing!

Frustrated

Loved the app when it worked but every time I try to log something it crashes. I recently had to get a new phone and downloaded the app again but every time I go to log back in, it crashes and wont log me in. Very frustrating as this was a tool I used everyday to keep track of lupus and fibromyalgia pain.

Launch, crash, repeat

The app does only one thing well... That it warns you about poor performance. Boy were they right.

Pain Coach Review

Just a great app, lets me keep in touch with triggers and treatments, helping me notice patterns which I can then address. I live with chronic pain, and even though it is my first thought, I do have "Notifications" turned on to remind me to track it. I just have problems remembering how to email it to my doctor. HELP!

Priceless

This is a best in class chronic pain app that could use a higher level of detail but serves the purpose well. Its an ideal option for tracking symptoms, coping with pain, and reporting useful information to your doctor. -The notifications are gentle, but could use a better reminder function (if not submitted a daily log by a certain time, have an alarm go off? Multiple reminders?) Having more reminders through the day could be great, record personal status throughout the day and find patterns that cant be seen with single entry days. -The goals are very broad, and could use a tracker to them too, as things like rest may be hard to achieve or exercise may be more difficult at some points. Just check-marking it by the day feels arduous and futile, when there is SO much useful information that can be derived from these goals. (The best function of a daily goal is following up on it, seeing improvements, and gaining confidence.) As a chronic pain sufferer, setting daily and weekly goals and recording achievements is perhaps one of my biggest motivators. Being able to mark improvements or identify issues to invest time in is a great benefit. Maybe allow us to type in a specific personal goal to the broad goal, instead of "exercise indoors" one could track "avoiding elevator, taking stairs instead". -A Sleep and a Mood tracker would be beneficial when comparing days of pain levels. -The Track pain option needs the most improvement, while you can select multiple symptoms, you can only set a pain level for the overall feeling. When detailing multiple parts or locations of the body that hurt at various levels, overall tracking is too vague. Adding a visual aid to mark up physical locations of pain on ones body would extremely help. -Tracking sensations would be another huge benefit for going to the doctors, "how does your pain feel?" can be a difficult question in many situations. Sensations like: Sharp, stinging, tingling, electric, dull, throbbing, shooting, etc... tracking those and their locations to have a census over months of records versus the clouded memory of months of pain and trying to think of and describe accurately on the spot. - Conditions selection could be supplemented with UnDiagnosed Chronic Pain to be a bit more accepting of the second-rate work some doctors do. In many cases I have seen its easier to diagnose what a person "doesnt" have versus finding an answer. Once a person is UnDiagnosed, the information needed is multiplied, while the doctors effort is dramatically reduced. - A doctors note section would be nice, record questions to ask the doctor on the next visit, and a place to record the notes from the doctor during the visit. This would be priceless information for patients who must use Walk-in clinics and dont have a family doctor. Finally, a BIG Thank You to WebMD for putting together a GREAT Chronic Pain Personal Assistant, and to let it be free, youre AMAZING. 5 Stars! I hope Apple features this app as there are many people who wouldnt think of using their iDevice for this purpose and could really benefit from it.

Pain Coach

Great app for tracking an undiagnosed condition as well as chronic conditions. A few glitches with adding medications. But otherwise a decent tool that allows you to show your doctor a review of your condition at every visit

I absolutely love this app. Very easy to use

Fantastic I love it!

Crashes at searches

Crashes any time u search for a symptom , medication etc. search = crash

Like it

Good app for tracking. Seems to crash a lot. But dont lose data.

Good but could be better

This app would be perfect if it allowed you to track pain on an hourly basis rather than daily. Also, a lot of times, triggers arent blatant and if the app asked you questions and helped you pinpoint a trigger when you were unsure, itd be really useful.

#1 for recording treatment plan

I have Fibromyalgia and we are currently trying a lot of meds so its important to know where, when, how much and what is the result. Pain Coach covers it all and has much more to offer.

Love This App

I love that I am able to track pain and possible triggers, as well as prescriptions, supplements, minerals and vitamins along with other treatment options. The goal section is another wonderful tool as it helps me set goals and be more accountable in achieving them. All of these records help me, and my healthcare team, work towards better healthcare for me. I, also, love all the advice I get from the app on various subjects such as pain management, fatigue management and so much more.

CHRONIC PAIN? AWESOME APP!

I dont know how many ppl downloaded this app but it should be the #1 pain app, why? Ill be in pain for the rest of my life and this helps me "journal" it "everyday" and can show it to my Dr in case I forget what day was worse! What are you waiting for? Download it today and get help with this "Pain Coach",you wont be disappointed :)

Broken after DST

After DST the journal is off by a day and I cant get it to reset. Works fairly well overall.

Incredibly Useful 94% of the Time

Records nearly everything someone living with chronic pain needs to keep track of. My main issue with this app is it occasionally gets stuck on the day before the current date and refuses to advance further. This appears to happen during daylight savings time changes.

Wont let me sign in :(

Ive been trying to create an account for a week now, but keep getting the same message "connection required to sign up" I am definitely connected the Internet. Very disappointed as the other reviews sounds great!
